Using 2D and 3D shapes to make air rockets

We wanted to make rocket tops that we can launch with teacher's rocket launcher.

We discovered that a 2D circle can change into a cone just by cutting the middle half way and squeezing with our fingers.

We discovered that a rectangular card can be rolled to make a cylinder.

We know that triangles will make great fins.

Now we are ready to assemble our own rockets.

Our rockets are ready for launching now!

Playing Percussion Instruments

We have lots of different types of instruments.

Can you see the xylophones, tambourines, drums, symbols, triangles, bells, shakers, maracas, thunder stick, rainmaker, whistles, castanets, guiro?

Some are shaken, some are blown, some are struck but all are percussion instruments.

We had a lot of fun playing them.

Oisín in Tír na nÓg

We have been learning and re-telling the story of Oisín in Tír na nÓg.

Toilet Roll Birds

Some of the birds we see near our school are getting ready to migrate to warmer countries.

We have made some cute birds.

Can you see how we used toilet rolls, paint, card and paint to make our friendly birds?

They look wonderful now that we have given them ears, a beak and claws!

Exploded Designs

We made some super exploded designs.

These patterns all should fit back into a square if squashed together again.

Putting rubbish in the bin

We are going to keep our classroom and our school nice and tidy.

We will put our rubbish in the bin.

Apple Trees in Autumn

Teacher was telling us about the four apple trees in her garden.

Yesterday we tasted some apples.

Today we painted apple trees and we used actual apples to print apples on our trees.

They look fantastic.

Some of us even added tree houses, ladders and slides.

We love our painted apple trees!
