Rain collages

We are making the letters Rr this week and we are also learning all about rain and the water cycle.
Today we made gorgeous collages with the letter R.  We coloured the Rs, stuck on fluffy cotton wool clouds, then stapled on raindrops and wet weather clothes.  Our collages look gorgeous.

Music: loud and soft

We had fun today listening to loud and soft sounds.
When we heard a loud sound we put up our red cards and when the sound was soft we held up our green cards.  We were right every time!

Advent wreaths

Advent is a time of preparation.
We are getting ready for the birth of Jesus Christ.
Advent starts on Sunday.  We made Advent wreaths today.  We used paper plates and crepe paper.  They look nice now but will look even nicer when they are finished.

Chinese dragons

We heard a really good Chinese story about how each year has been named after an animal on the Chinese zodiac.
We really enjoyed sequencing the story and talking all about the characters of each of the animals.
Look at the cool dragons we made in art with 2 paper plates and some paint.
We will finish them tomorrow.
We also heard a Chinese song.
We love learning about China.

Waterproof umbrellas

Last week with Ms. Small we did lots of really interesting work on waterproof and absorbent materials.  We especially liked guessing and trying out which material was which.
We made some lovely umbrellas in art, and then we made them waterproof by covering them in cling film.  Here are the finished umbrellas:
