Planet pictures

Our planet pictures are finished!
We used yesterdays spatter pictures as the backgrounds for our pictures and we used the marbled paper from Tuesday to make the planets.
We had to trace around different circular shapes to make circles on the marbled paper.
Then we cut out these circles and stuck them onto the spatter backgrounds.
We made up fun names for our planets!

Clay rockets

We made some lovely clay rockets this morning.
We hope they will be dry in time for our Rocket Morning next Thursday.

Katri's colour strings

We are learning lots of fun songs from Katri at Colour Strings each week

Felt rockets

We wanted to design our own spaceships using the maths shapes we know.
We helped suggest shapes for teacher's rocket:- a triangle for the nose, a rectangle for the rocket body (we thought a cylinder would be better but would be very difficult to stick on to the paper), a circle for the porthole (window), a square for the door, and for the fire we thought of crescents, ovals, triangles and semi-circles.  Teacher added one of each but that just looks a bit silly!
Here are our designs:

Ms. O'Connor's class say:

We are learning all about Space.

We made rockets from felt material. We had great fun cutting up different shapes!

Marbling planets

We did some messy art today.
We used marbling ink to make interesting patterns with oil and dye.
The coloured dye doesn't mix with the water in the tray but sits on top of it.
When we put a sheet of paper in the tray the colours stick to the paper and we make nice patterns.
We will use these patterns to make interesting planets.

Scary skeletons

We have made our own skeletons.
We love the way that each one looks different.
