Marsha the music teacher

Marsha is teaching the children music once a week.They are learning lovely songs and doing rhythm activities.There is an elephant called Elsie who sings to them!

The solas dearg mystery

We found a note from teacher's old friend Titch the witch. She would like to use our class for Halloween again this year.
Titch played a naughty trick on teacher, she took her solas dearg (red light). The children reckon this is teacher's favourite light. We have solas glas (green light) for work where we are all talking, solas oràiste (orange light) for work time that we all whisper and the solas dearg is for quiet working time that requires lots of concentration.
Titch left us a note and a map. We followed the map and found teacher's precious solas dearg :)

Autumn leaf rubbings

We took a walk round the school grounds today and noticed there are a lot more leaves on the ground. There are alot of beautiful autumn colours around us now. We collected a selection of leaves and made some fantastic leaf rubbings. There was absolute amazement in our little eyes as we watched the shape of the leaf magically appear on the page. I think you will all agree they look beautiful.

Clay hedgehogs

We've been learning all about hedgehogs. They are eating lots of berries, insects and worms before they hibernate for the winter. We had lots of fun looking for shapes in the clay. We thought the clay was very hard and cold at first but with lots of pounding and pinching we made it warm and found hedgehogs hiding in the clay. A hedgehog has lots of spikes so we stuck lots of sticks in his back. We tried to get them as close together as we could. This activity is great for make our little hands strong!
