Kites in Junior infants
This week we made lovely kites from cardboard, painted them, put on a face and streamers and bows and strings. There was no shortage of wind this week so we were able go fly them this morning. We also sang " Lets go fly a kite".
Billy's Bucket in Senior infants
We did a drama lesson today about a little boy who only wanted a bucket for his birthday. His parents want him to choose something else but he tells them it is the only thing he wants.Next, the children had to pretend to be different kinds of buckets in the bucket shop and Billy had to choose his favourite one.It was very hard to pick as the children came up with all sorts of brilliant ideas. But he couldn t resist a bucket that could fly and a bucket that could make you happy when you felt sad!

Summer art in Junior Infants
This week we were taking all about Summer time. We now have a new month, May and a new season, Summer. Teacher is reading us a book full of interesting facts all about the animals that live under the sea. We painted a scene from the sea bed. We used sponge paints to sponge animals like the tortoise, a seahorse, a crab and fish. They are hanging in our classroom if you want to have a look at our fabulous artwork.

Summer suns in Senior infants
We made these bright summer suns in art recently. They took a lot of work but the end result was superb!! First we sponge painted a large paper plate and the sun's rays using orange and yellow paint. We cut out the rays when dry and stuck them on to the sun. Next, we made some eyes and a mouth for our sun and stuck them on. We used foam pieces for the nose. We also decorated the rays of the sun with glitter.
